Origin of Words - Part 1
Here are some words from tamil and their possible origin (according to me:)
1. Tamil: Boochaandi/Poochaandi => poosiya + aandi => an aandi with vibhuthi or sandal paste smeared (poosi) all over his body.
2. Tamil: Ammathaay => amma + thaay => From the two words meaning mother used by beggars to plead for alms. This compound word is used to represent a scary monster ( a la bogeyman)
